Christmas Decorations 2014

I love decorating for Christmas. My boys love to help me put out our Christmas decorations and we all have the best time talking about the memories the decorations bring to mind for us. Logan could not wait for us to put up our trees. He has talked about Christmas trees for a month. Last year he cried when we took down the tree.

This corner cabinet is from my Grandma Kell's kitchen. My mom painted it and added the fruit on the bottom for me when we built our house. It is one of my favorite things. My dining room is my snow man room and my snowman collection is displayed in this cabinet.

I love having an advent calendar. The compartments are numbered and each one contains a little ornament. The boys take turns opening the door every morning.

My mom gave me the Christmas dishes and they have snowmen on them. I love having them out to use for the kiddos during the holidays. The nativity is beautiful at the top of the china cabinet.

This little angel is not the prettiest girl around but this is the angel that was on my tree when I was a little girl so she will always have a place in my home.

Logan is so proud of his tree, he says he likes to look at it because it makes his heart happy. I love that sweet boy.

Logan took this picture of the church in the village.

My babies stockings. We even have one for Jack (the dog).

My little village. Logan loves the village. He gets his toy cars out and plays for hours with these little houses. Trent did the same thing when he was little. One time I found the houses on their sides and trees knocked down. I said Trent what happened to the village and he said, "tornado in the village".

My best friend Sarah gave me this gorgeous angel.

The tall elf is named Buddy and our dog Jack is terrified of him.

Our snowman tree in the dining room. There is a train at the bottom but it does not stay intact on the track because my four year old just loves the train!

Merry Christmas from the Foster's.

Christmas Ornaments

I love Christmas!!! I love collecting ornaments. Ornaments bring back special memories. When the boys were little I started writing little notes about why they picked a certain ornament that year. I pick their first five ornaments from Hallmark and then they start picking their own...except Logan, I let him pick his own every year even though he is only 4.

Corbin's first 5 ornaments from hallmark were little teddy bears with Christmas cookies with his age.

Braden's first 5 Hallmark ornaments were  teddy bears in trains.

Trent's first 5 Hallmark ornaments were a little different. Trent's first 3 were identical to Braden's train ornaments with a different year but his 4th and 5th year are dogs. His 4th is a dog painting and his 5th is a dog riding a scooter.

Corbin went through a Scooby Doo phase. We had Scooby Doo everything...movies, stuffed animals, bedding!!!

Corbin picked this one because he loves to cook and watch cooking shows.

This one was last years ornament. My baby is driving. I need to find another one for Braden this year.

Braden was crazy about Power Rangers. This phase went on for several years. Logan loves the red Power Ranger and fought with Braden about this ornament this year.

I thought Braden looked just like Chuckie from rugrats.

Trent loves doing plays with Fine Line players. A couple years ago he was in "A Christmas Story" and this ornament was perfect.

My sweet Logan's first 2 ornaments and an airplane ornament. We decorated his nursery with airplanes and his Aunt Courtney bought this beautiful plane on a trip to Omaha, Nebraska.

Logan was born on October 28th. We nicknamed him Casper. Aunt Rebecca found this sweet little mommy and baby ghost ornaments at Hallmark when he was born.

Logan is crazy about Curious George.

Braden played football for years. We loved watching him play.

Corbin and Braden are huge Texas Longhorn fans.

My mother in law Cheri made this ornament years ago for my father in law. He passed away many years ago but this ornament hangs on our tree near the angel every year.

Ryan and I lost a baby many years ago. We never knew if it was a boy or girl but Corbin told everyone he was getting a baby sister named Katy. Corbin's aunt Cathy made us a whole family of gingerbread men that year with a little baby gingerbread girl. I hang this sweet baby next to Bill's ornament near the angel. It reminds me of my sweet baby in heaven.

We could never forget the Harry Potter craze.

I am not ashamed of my love of Twilight and Edward.

Logan's handprint when he was just 1.

Trent loved Star Wars.

Logan is crazy about donuts.

With 4 boys you knew there had to be a superman ornament in there.

Trent loves wolves.

The first ornament I bought my husband after we were married. He collects Coca-Cola items.

We have several trumpets on our tree but this one is my favorite.

And last but not least, the crown belongs to the queen of this castle!!

Merry Christmas from the Foster's.

Thanksgiving 2014

The Foster family has been very blessed this year. We were blessed to be able to host Thanksgiving dinner in our home this year. My parents are remodeling their kitchen so they have been sharing meals with us this past week. The kids are loving having their grandparents over every night and I have loved having them here.

I worried about my mom and I sharing the kitchen and preparing such a big meal. I've always heard the saying "too many cooks in the kitchen", but my mom and I did great! Our feast was delicious.

We did a lot of prep work on Wednesday night and finished the feast this morning. Trent wanted to make a dirt cake and Corbin helped make the dressing. Logan just added sweetness to the kitchen.

Jamey and Rebecca and the boys came over and the boys played and we sat around the table and talked and laughed for a long time. These are days we will remember always.

We ended our evening with a visit to my in-laws for dessert. Our thanksgiving was wonderful and I enjoyed every minute of the day. I am very blessed.

I did not get pictures today :( but I did get a few last night. :)

Date Night

My sweet boy Trenton asked me out on a date earlier in the week for last night. I was beyond excited!!!! I have 4 boys so I love when I get one on one time with each of them.
The night started out great. He let me pick out his outfit ,he looked super handsome. Trent even got a haircut that day and put on deodorant and cologne without me reminding him, anyone who has raised a 13 year old realizes that this is a rare occurrence.
As we were walking out the door his friend Gage called and wanted to spend the night. Yes, as you can guess my sweet boy ditched his mom as his date and I quickly assumed the role of driver of the teenagers. Thank goodness my sweet mom was free and agreed to go with us.
We picked up Gage and the boys wanted Raising Canes for dinner. Raising Canes just opened a day ago so it has been really busy. I was a good mom and stated, "we will drive by but if it's busy have another place picked"! We pulled in and there was one parking spot...it was meant to be. The cars were wrapped around the building for the drive thru so I knew the line inside was going to be crazy.  We quickly were able to order and found a table. Then the Cane sauce frenzy began. The sauce is addicting...I swear there's crack in the sauce to get you hooked and keep you coming back!
We all loved it and we even found Corbin's picture with the Texas High band on the wall. My baby is famous...at least at Texarkana's Raising Canes and  my house of course.
We then went to Target for movie candy and then the movies. We had to sit a few rows above the boys because who wants to sit with their mom...me excluded because my mom was my date! The movie was great even though the theater was packed and the woman beside us coughed the first 15 minutes of the film but refused to leave the theater...I swear she coughed up her right lung!!!
Trent ditched me but I'm so glad he has such good friends who really get him.  I worried for years that my sweet angel would not know the blessing of true friendship because of his autism. My mommy heart is feeling very thankful this morning for such a great night.

College day and Senior night

Corbin is a Senior this year and is applying to colleges. He was accepted to Henderson State University and Ouachita Baptist College this week. My mommy heart is bursting with pride at his accomplishments. I LOVE that both schools are in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and are only an hour and a half from ME!!!!

Corbin and I went to visit the two colleges on Thursday. I loved being able to spend the day with Corbin. I have 4 boys so one on one time is hard to come by. I just knew we would talk and gab all the way to Arkadelphia....reality sucks! Corbin slept the whole way there!!!!

What's a mom to do with all that free time...take selfies with the boy of course!

Henderson State University had a Reddie day for Seniors to attend and tour the school and ask questions. I was excited and wanted to document the whole experience...Corbin not so much. He does not like cameras.
The campus was beautiful and he did consent to a few pics while looking at the campus. I think he was having fun with old mom. He will never admit it, but there is just a little hint of a smile in the pics.

Corbin scheduled an appointment to tour Ouachita Baptist University while we were there. I was so surprised when we arrived and found our very own parking spot.

The tour was fabulous and he even let me take a picture of him with the mascot. The mascot is a tiger just like Texas High (will Corbin stay a tiger?...we will see).

Friday night was Senior night at the football game and Ryan and I got to walk our first born across the field.

We are a couple of proud parents!!!!

The last couple of days have been super busy and full of laughter and just a few tears. The two universities are two wonderful campuses that will be lucky to gain our son next year. My heart is breaking at the thought of letting him go but I'm extremely proud of his accomplishments and his excitement as he plans his future. I am so blessed that God chose me to raise this remarkable young man. I have loved and cherished every moment of his past, I am trying my best to make every moment count for his present, and I can't wait to see what his future holds. My cup runneth over.
