Date Night

Ryan had a night off and we had a date night. Ryan and I very rarely spend time away from our guys, but really try to carve out couple time when we can. Ryan has been my best friend since 5th grade and when I have free time I always want to spend it with him. We always have the best time together. I'm a very lucky girl to still be crazy in love with my husband after all these years. I'm so glad God chose him just for me.
We went to a new restaurant tonight called Pop's Place. We like to try new places and we LOVED this place. We also wanted to celebrate Ryan's promotion at work.
Ryan ordered the steak and it was delicious. I'm really picky about my steak and this one was tender and delicious. He had already started on his plate before I got a picture.
I ordered the seared Ahi tuna. It was so good. Ryan will not try sushi or anything that is semi raw, but he tried a bite and said he really liked it.
My drink of choice is always an Ameretto Sour and I had one, but I also tried the drink special tonight which was a Hatch Chile Margarita. It was really good but packed a lot of heat. You didn't feel the heat at first but then it would hit you in the back of your throat. Ryan liked it because it reminded him of a Bloody Mary without the tomato juice and he loves Bloody Mary's.
We had the best time tonight.

Week One is Over

The Foster Four survived the first week of school!

Corbin likes his classes and is enjoying his job. I was so glad he chose to stay home because I couldn't imagine not seeing him all the time, but honestly I've barely seen him this week.

Braden called and said he loves Senior year so far. He said the drive to school isn't bad and he got late arrival so he really liked that.

Trent has to get up at 4:45 am every day to get ready to go to swim practice and that schedule has been hard to get used to this week. He has made a lot of friends in swim and the upperclassmen are really including the Freshman in activities. Trent has become a busy guy, he had a party last Friday night, he is at a party tonight, and he has one next Friday night! He really likes his Ag class and loves French.

Logan is in love with school. He jumps out of bed every morning excited about school. He has not cried once all week. The kids have lockers in the hall and he said on Monday, "I got a yellow locker and I wanted a red locker, but that's just life mom". I said, "your right Logan". He said, "I put my stuff in the red locker anyways"! He had a green happy face every day except yesterday. He had a yellow face and note that said talking back. He said, "it wasn't me mom, she can't see well and she wrote it in the wrong folder"...he got a spanking for lying! When I put him to bed and he said his prayers the guilt started eating at him. He said, "I'm sorry I let you down mom". He said he didn't mean to talk back that he was trying to explain to her that she gave him the wrong materials and he was telling her that. We talked about being respectful. He was very excited about today because the cheerleaders were selling tattoos for the football game. The cheerleader helped him put the tattoo on but she put it on upside down...he didn't care!

I had a great first week in first grade and I have some really sweet kiddos this year. My class ended the week with cupcakes and juice for one of my boys birthdays today...not a bad way to wrap up week one!

My boys are happy so that makes me happy! Week one is in the books.

The Foster's First Day

If you live in Texas than you know that today was the first day of school. Today was a big day for the Foster's. We had a hectic morning. I got first day pictures and then we all went in different directions. My four boys are at 4 different schools and of course since I teach that means 5 school schedules to juggle!

Corbin started his first year of college. He had classes and work today. He said he really enjoyed his classes. He was a good sport about taking a "first day" picture this morning. I didn't get a smile but I'll take what I can get.
Braden started his first day of his Senior year. I was so emotional last year about Senior year and now it starts all over with my second son. Why oh why do they have to grow up. This is the first year that Braden is driving himself to school.  He said he had a great first day. He lives in Houston so he escaped my crazy first day sign pics, but not the mandatory first day pick.
Trent started his first day of high school. I cannot believe this child is in high school. He said he got lost only once and his favorite class so far other than swim is French. He chose French as his foreign language because he said it's the language of love!!! Lord help us. He starts swim practice in the morning and will practice EVERY morning at 6:00 am. That is so early!!!! He is mad at me in this picture because he doesn't like the shorts I picked out for him to wear. I hope it's the last argument we have this year...a girl can hope, right.
My baby started pre-k. He was so excited. I was sad to have him go to school but he didn't shed a tear. He LOVED it. The best news of the day was that he had a happy face in his folder. Let's hope he continues to behave. The bad news of the day was that Ryan introduced him to WWE tonight and he wants to put everyone in a headlock!!! We had a talk about NO wrestling moves at school.
I had to be at school early so Meme and Papa walked him into pre-k.

He said, "i wanted a red locker but I got yellow, that's just life mom"!!! I love this kid.
First day of college, first day of Senior year, first day of high school, first day of pre-k...this was a huge day for the Foster's! Day 1 of 2015-2016 is in the books.

Logan~my funny little man

Logan is at a really fun age right now. He is only 4 but he thinks he is older because of his big brothers. I still refer to him as the baby and will probably still be doing this when he's 40. Ryan calls him "little man". He is a happy and active little boy. Logan tells me all the time, "I can do it, I'm a big boy". When Logan does not want to do something he says, "I can't do that, I'm just a baby"!
I have a child with autism and I'm just a tad bit OCD so our lives are very structured and scheduled. I expect my children to have a bedtime and to sleep in their own rooms. Logan was great at sleeping in his own room, the key word here is was. Logan got sick a few months ago and had to take medicine every few hours and since I was exhausted from several days of a sick kiddo and Ryan was working graveyard I put Logan in my bed...he's still here!!!! He is a wild sleeper so Ryan usually ends up going upstairs and sleeping in Logan's bed at some point on the nights he's off! Logan is so happy with this arrangement he refers to the master bedroom as "our" room and Logan's room as "daddy's" room! I know, I know, this is horrible...I promise I'm working on it.
Logan likes to call me "honey". He will say, "honey, you make the best pancakes", or "honey, you look beautiful today". I love it! He also likes to call me sexy baby and tells me to call him good looking...he calls Ryan Big Poppa!! I really don't know where he gets this from but it is something we are trying to correct. No matter how many times I say I'm not sexy baby I'm mommy, he still says it. The people of Walmart-Mart even give us funny looks when they hear him say "hey sexy baby"! If the Wal-Mart crowd thinks it's strange you know you're in trouble!
I went out of town a couple weeks ago and my in-laws kept Logan. Logan went to church with them on Sunday and since we are Baptist and they are Catholic the service was a little different than what he is used to. There was a teenage boy at the alter that day and he had a beard and his hair was a little long like the teenagers are wearing it these days. He had on a long robe and a tall cross. Logan said to grandma, "I didn't know Jesus came to your church". Grandma explained that he wasn't Jesus.  She also told Logan that after service they had donuts and if he behaved he could have a donut. That night as I was tucking Logan in he asked, "Mom, why don't we have fake Jesus and donuts at our church"! I laughed for a long time.
This weekend he decided he needed to make "money's"...that's what he calls it. He wants a soccer ball so he decided to sell water to make money. He set up a little table and glasses of water. He made us all pay "money's" for water from the tap...and you know we all did.
He also wants to help Ryan do EVERYTHING. Ryan can't move that Logan isn't right behind him. It is really cute.

Helping dad pump gas and wash the windows. He LOVES washing the windows.
Helping dad wash the car.
I am really enjoying this time with Logan   because I know how quickly they grow up. Ryan and I are truly blessed to have this little guy to raise...oops I'm suppose to call him good looking!

Pippen Wedding 8/8/15

My cousin Steven and his fiancée Christie got married last weekend. My mom and I traveled to Freeport, Texas to attend the wedding.

I was excited to spend the weekend with my mom and without the kids. It is very rare that I get away without my kids ever! I really enjoyed spending time with my mom and also getting to spend time with family at the wedding.

I had not met the bride until this weekend and just loved her right away. It is very evident how much the two of them love each other. I am so glad I got to witness and share in this special moment in their lives.

The happy couple
Waiting on his bride
Sealed with a kiss
The reception was beautiful. I loved the cake.
My favorite part of the wedding is that Steven and Christie used our grandparents wedding rings. My grandpa was a huge man and I asked Steven how many sizes did he have to cut the ring down to and he said from a 16 to a 10 1/2! I know that Grandma and Papa are looking down and smiling at this sweet couple.
Thanks for letting us share in your special day Mr. and Mrs. Pippen. We wish you many years of happiness.

Trent's High School Orientation

Trenton is starting high school! I took Trent to orientation today. Texas High is huge and I think he was just a little worried about only having 7 minutes to get to his classes. I'm just a little worried about all the changes high school brings. The last few days I have noticed Trent acting more mature and making plans for high school. It makes me proud and sad all at the same time. My little boy is growing up. I hope Texas High is ready for another Foster!!!

The future Class of 2019. It's like find Waldo...can you find Trent?
I opened Timehop this morning and was surprised to find that 4 years ago I was taking Corbin to this same orientation. Here's a little throwback to my first high schooler!

40 and Fabulous

Today is my birthday...the big one...I'm 40. It hasn't bothered me like I thought it would. I honestly don't feel 40. I am shocked at how fast 40 got here, but I'm okay with the number. I have learned a lot in the first 40 years and I plan on leaving my mark on this world with the next 40 years I may possibly be on this Earth.

The day started out a little sad, Logan woke up at 3 am with fever. :( My husband woke me up with donuts and kolaches and surprised me with a scheduled 1 hour massage. I was so excited! The morning got even better, my oldest, Corbin, surprised me with a facial and both were scheduled for today!!!! I was a pampered princess for my birthday. My guys know me well.

I had lunch at Lee's China and this was the fortune in my cookie.

I returned home to more presents from my guys! Braden got me a Sprite and a homemade "cup ball" toy. I really worry about this child sometimes! I drank the Sprite right away but I'm not sure what to do with the toy. I like that Braden wanted to do something special for me and knew my favorite drink.
Trent gave me a new soap sponge and body wash and nail polish. I get even more pampering. He knows I love baths. There were 4 nail polishes but Trent learned a lesson that when you leave things in a hot car they can EXPLODE! Thank goodness it was in a Wal-Mart sack but everything in the sack is covered in blue glitter paint.
Logan made me a card and it said, "I love you Mom. Be my girl. Love Logan". Be still my heart!
My best friend sent me a beautiful floral arrangement. I never get flowers...it's just not Ryan's thing. I loved getting these beautiful flowers. Sarah knows me well.
My in-laws planned a party for me and my sweet nieces and nephews decorated for me. It was a great night. I love spending time with my family.
My nieces made the flowers and my nephew made the "Grammy Award". They are all very creative. They each had a special card for me.
Michael and Aunt Casey
Caroline and Aunt Casey
Camryn and Aunt Casey. She wanted everyone to know she just got out of the pool so that's why she has a towel on her head. This girl is funny.
My sweet Lilly bug.
My favorite card was from my in-laws.
I had help blowing out my candles and opening my gifts.
My big boys will always be my babies.
I had a great day and the celebration isn't over yet. I get to go away for the weekend with my mom. We are going to a family wedding but we are getting to go without kids. I'm excited to have some mommy/daughter time. Thank you everyone that has wished me a Happy Birthday. I am feeling 40 and Fabulous!

Back to School Splash

Our church rented water slides for the youth and kids this weekend for a Back to School Splash. The youth got to play on the slides yesterday and the little ones today after church. My big boys and my little boy had a blast. Logan went down the big slide this year! We just love our church family and the fellowship time we have with them.

Today was a big day for our Lilly Bug. I kept the nursery at church so Lilly came to the nursery for the first time and "helped" Aunt Casey watch the kiddos. 😊 She loved watching the kids play.
